Sushi Burrito is quite an odd name and their logo doesn’t give much away either. But it’s a unique take on a fusion of Japanese and Mexican cuisines. You wouldn’t usually associate the two together, but Sushi Burrito has done so in interesting ways.
Food
Dynamite Shrimp: Sushi Burrito’s take on the Dynamite shrimp, a decent version but nothing exceptional. It is a nice, safe starter to go for, can’t fault them for this popular, delicious appetizer.
Spicy Salmon (Burrito): A burrito served as sushi. It’s basically a maki roll that’s bigger and cut into half. M wasn’t too much of a fan, but T enjoyed it. It’s definitely something that needs to be finished when served and it’s quite a big portion so you better be hungry.
Prawn Tempura & Crabsticks (Poke): We have become big fans of Poke having tried it a few times. This was a very delicious dish with nice, crunchy prawn (not fried, just well cooked in lime) and the crab stick adds a perfect dimension of flavour and texture. Definitely a good pick. We recommend this as a must have at Sushi Burrito.
Dorito Maki Roll: We got this so we could try something unique and new. The roll was surprisingly delicious, especially since M doesn’t actually like Doritos. Worth a try if you are feeling adventurous.
Chicken Quesadilla: This is an item from their Mexican Menu which is available on Monday and Thursdays. We were surprised that this was offered to us as a best seller. Unfortunately, the Quesadillas were average and we feel its better to stick to Sushi Burrito’s more Japanese inclined offerings.
Drink
Mexican Horchata: A traditional Mexican/latin rice drink based with milk and cinnamon. Sushi Burrito serves the almond variant. If you haven’t tried a Horchata before, then its gonna be an experience. The flavours of this one is unfortunately very mild. The drink feels like a watered down milk with some grainy texture.
Piña Colada: This drink is quite sweet, if you have a sweet tooth, then its a great option to try. Milky and creamy, a decent drink.
How to get to Sushi Burrito:
Located in DIFC, this outlet is actually quite close to the metro. Get off at Financial Centre Metro station, towards the landslide. Once you head out, head towards the back side of DIFC, cross the road and the Emirates Financial Towers are a little ahead.
You can get here by car, but parking can sometimes be an issue (unless of course you work in the area)
Sushi Burrito is in the middle reception area, closer to the right side tower. As soon as you enter, it’s on the right.
