A tasty buffet spread with popular Arabic dishes for a decent price, brought to you by Sikka. We liked that the amount of dishes overall were not so much so that it was overwhelming, while still giving you enough to choose from and keep you satisfied till your next meal.
The food
The popular appetizers of cold mezze, the usual favourites, hummus, moutabel etc., along with hot mezze including mixed sambousek, falafel and kibbeh to name a few. Mains consist of two types of biryani, a delicious butter chicken, shrimp salona, kebabs and harees.
The hot mezze was delicious, the cheese sambousek, falafel and onion pakoda being our favourites, from the mains we really enjoyed the butter chicken, kebabs and shrimp salona. Very flavoursome dishes overall.
The desserts
Various baklava, legemat and fresh fruit are at the end of the buffet arc setup along with the Ramadan beverages. The baklava was our favourite, very rich and texturally quite different but very delicious.
The drinks
Ramadan beverages: Qamar el din, jallab, tamer hindi. This was quite well presented, with the drinks being in the usual drink dispensers and on the top were small plates of dried fruit based on what each drink was made from. Very clever detail.
Ambiance
The buffet setup is beautiful and gives off the feeling of being in a family home with a large round table of food that everyone goes around to serve themselves. Fairy lights are placed along the table as well as on the floor, while a large lit moon and star sits in the middle on top of the counter.
