Poke and Co. take the delicious Hawaiian concept of Poke and make it a healthy and accessible option for everyone.

Poke is basically a raw fish salad, but with protein options like tofu and portobello mushrooms they bring some vegetarian variations, and with the use of zoodles (zucchini noodles) there’s also a light and healthy option.

While they do have some pre-made options that you can choose from we decided to make two of our own. Here is what we went with.

Poke 1

Base: black rice and sushi rice mix
Protein: raw tuna and raw salmon
Sauce: sesame ponzu
Mix: mango, edamame, spicy kale, seaweed, jalapeños, cucumber, spring onions
Toppings: ginger, sesame seeds and togarashi

Poke 2

Base: zucchini noodles, quinoa
Protein: shrimp, mushroom and tofu
Sauce: spicy ginger
Mix: edamame, seafood, jalapeños, radish, fish roe, bean sprouts, spring onions
Toppings: shallots, chilli flakes, togarashi

Though we thoroughly enjoyed both dishes, T preferred the first one and M preferred the second. The ingredients are both fresh and light. Even though we visited in the evening, everything was perfectly fresh.

For the drinks, we had a Coconut Water, from a fresh coconut, and one of their bottled drinks.

The staff are extremely helpful and make great suggestions on what elements work well together. The venue is a nice open space with big, glass windows, light wood interiors and great use of greenery from green walls on the sides of the counter, to the hanging plants from the industrial ceiling.

They’ve also got refrigerated shelves with pre-made salads and dressings which can be purchased separately, healthy items such as bone broth from Clean Living,

One thing to point out, the dishes are usually priced upwards of AED 50 (depending on size and ingredients, ours cost around AED 65+ each) the portion sizes are really big, making it relatively good value for money in DIFC.

How to get there:

Poke & Co. is located in Central Park towers in DIFC

While this is Located in DIFC, this outlet isn’t that close to the metro, but you can use the metro if you are up for a walk. Get off at the Financial Centre Metro station, landside. Once you head out, head towards the back side of DIFC, cross the road and follow the road in the direction of Dubai Mall. Eventually, the road will bend to the left, but keep walking till you see the Central Park Towers.

You can get here by car, but parking can sometimes be an issue (unless of course, you work in the area).

You can get to Poke & Co. by going up the escalator one floor, turning left and keep going till you see the entrance. The restaurant is opposite Spinneys.

Note: We were invited to review Poke & Co. However our thoughts and opinions are our own.
