Veg Hut is a restaurant started by two ladies hailing from two different Indian states, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. And this is why Veg Hut offers a variety of dishes that are well known in those places. It is a great restaurant to order delivery from as well.
We had discovered Veg Hut on a day when we were craving a South Indian breakfast. We tried out some dosas and filter coffee and enjoyed it quite a bit so decided to come back and try their lunch thali too.
The lunch thali dishes vary everyday besides the 3-4 regular dishes of sambar etc. and the breads and rice offered. It’s an unlimited sampling of delicious, flavourful vegetarian dishes.
Here’s a list of what we got to try the day we visited:
If that sounds like a lot, you are right! The most amazing part of this is that the lunch thali costs less than AED 20. To top it off, it’s unlimited. We honestly liked every dish we tried. Such dishes are not the usual ones we would eat and so we were happy to try an array of different flavours, and mixing them up with the chapati and puri was also a great way to add more variety.
We also got to try out a few snacks.
Vada with chutney: Delicious, crispy vadas freshly made from scratch. The texture was perfect and we loved the crunch with almost every bite.
Mangalore buns: This is a breakfast dish or tea time snack that M is quite a fan of. It’s like a soft fluffy puri and is traditionally made using flour and banana. They are mildly sweet and very tasty! Veg Hut makes these to order and they are best served hot.
Tender Coconut water with honey and mint: A refreshing take on a popular drink. It was a great accompaniment to the meal.
Filter coffee: A little milder for us, but when we asked for it to be made stronger, they were happy to oblige. This is a must during breakfast and lunch… Who are we kidding, you need this all day, everyday!
A simple, no fuss space that can accommodate about forty people in total. The space is kept quite clean. The focus here is the food and the service, both of which are great.
Veg Hut is located in the main big circle in Dubai Investment Park (DIP), the circle that has DIP Park and the main DIP Office. If you live in nearby areas like Motor City, Studio City, Sports City, Discovery Gardens and Rimram etc. this is a pretty short drive. You also get ample of free covered parking in the structure nearby.
