Apple Crisp Recipe

Try this quick and easy apple crisp recipe, paired well with vanilla ice cream. A rustic dessert that everyone will love.

Sometimes you just end up with a bunch of apples no one at home has eaten or you want to make a dessert out of it but to bake an entire apple pie seems like too much of a task. While there are a variety of things you could do with them, this simple dessert is always a great option. We’ve made this super easy rustic treat many times and it’s always a hit. Here is our recipe for Apple Crisp.

It’s preferable to serve it up warm. Don’t forget to pair it with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and you’re all set. You can also drizzle some caramel sauce over the ice cream for additional sweetness.

Notes

That’s our simple and quick Apple Crisp recipe. Just a few things to mention.

  • – You can leave the apple skins on if you prefer, however when cooked we tend to not enjoy the rougher texture of them which is why we peel our apples. It’s really up to your personal choice across all apple-based desserts. So just try it with or without and see what works best for you.
  • – Alternatively, you can also toss the apples in granulated sugar instead of brown sugar as many other recipes will state. We feel like the brown sugar gives the apples more of a caramel flavour. It also complements the cinnamon better which is why we stick to it.
  • – We’ve also tried swapping the AP flour for 1/4 cup almond flour and 1/2 cup AP flour to get an extra bit of nuttiness and to be *slightly* healthier; and it still turns out to be delish!

We would love to hear about your experience. Did you follow the exact recipe? What were some of the changes you made? We would love to hear your take on it.
