Moroccan Iftar at Sufra – Ramadan 2018

A Middle Eastern restaurant located in Hyatt Regency Creek Heights, Sufra offers up a buffet that has a bit of everything.

The food

An Arabic/Levantine/Mediterranean style Iftar with plenty of freshly grilled kebabs, falafels fried up right then and there, as well as manakish prepared from scratch. Not to mention hot mezze such as kibbeh and fatayer, cold mezze and salads and main dishes including freekah dajaj, lamb with okra, couscous, lamb chops with wine leaves and Ouzi.

We really enjoyed the hot mezze and manakish, the cous cous was delicious as well.

The desserts

A lovely stacked table with various baklava, a date tower, mohalabiya to go with the theme along with some standard favourites including apple pie and cheesecake. If that wasn’t enough they’ve got freshly prepared kunafeh as well which is plated for you with the addition of syrup and pistachio nuts. The kunafeh is presented really well.

The drinks

The popular Ramadan drinks are served: Jallab and Qamar El Din along with water. Each of us had a favourite and we are sure you will find one to be yours.

Ambience

A simple yet inviting location decorated with the arabesque lamps and lanterns, Middle Eastern fabric runners lining the tables and a warm vibe overall.
